EN: There are many anecdotes from the Bikini Club. The bikini sandwich is probably most important. Ham and cheese, hot ham and cheese, as it’s known throughout Spain. The man who set up Bikini was Belgian, and offered croque-monsieurs, made with two slices of bread, ham and cheese, but he made it a double. Barcelona people, when they went somewhere, would say, “I want a sandwich like they make at Bikini.” So here, in Barcelona, the ham & cheese became known as the Bikini. It spread throughout Catalunya, and if you ask for a Bikini in Spain, some recognize the origin, and some don’t. The name comes from Bikini, the club.

Potser una molt important es que el sandwitch de pernil i formatge, el caliente de jamón i queso com es coneix a tota Espanya, l’home que va montar el bikini era belga i donava crocque-monsieurs, que el va fer amb dos trossos de pà, hi ha alguns que només porten pà, formatge i pernil, però ell ho va fer doble. Llavors la gent de Barcelona, quan anaven a un altre lloc déien, “Yo quiero un bocadillo como el del Bikini”. I aquí a Barcelona es va començar a conéixer el sandwich de pernil i formatge amb el nom de bikini. A Catalunya s’ha estés així i a Espanya a algún lloc si demanes un bikini encara saben el que és, però si no, no saben el que és. I es el nom que ve del Bikini, de la discoteca.
