I don’t expect improvements in the beginning. There will be a period of transition for state institutions, for cultivating new relationships as a new nation. That will be difficult. But even then, we want it.

We want it because…when something deep down, something that is yours, is attacked…there is nothing stronger than the need to escape. When I say, ‘something that is yours,’ consider the language as an example.

They can’t [destroy] it. They’ve a long history of trying, but Catalan survives. They can’t attack Catalan. It’s the language you use with family, with your mother, it’s your mother tongue. They attack it, try to subjugate it, when you should be fighting to ensure its survival. Because it is a minority language, and it could disappear. And that occurs with so many things. When you are treated with scorn.

When you possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and they clip your wings. You have no choice but to be true to yourself. And if being oneself means that I can’t be here, I must go. In reality, this change is important. It’s not an economic change.

It’s a change of identity. I want to build a nation of freedom. A nation where corruption is chased away, and punished. Where I am today, I can’t get that.

Quan intenten menyspreuarte. I per voler ser tú, no puc estar on estic, he de marxar.
