Plaça del Poble Romaní

Plaça del Poble Romaní is a large Gràcia plaza in the Romaní, or Gypsy neighborhood of Barcelona. It has a playground and a dog park, and long stretches of cement that lead to stone walls wallpapered with graffiti. The quiet plaza is abutted by apartment buildings, and a few storefronts. It was formerly the site of textile company Fàbrica Vapor Nou, and the building’s towering smokestack remains. There are no terrace restaurants in this plaza that opened in 2013,  but there are plenty of benches, and it’s a great place to go to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, or its more popular squares.
