EN: The 1929 exposition took place on Montjuïc, presenting a totally unique vision. Grand palaces are built in a very academic style, very 19th century. But as I understand it, it fulfills its role as a universal exposition. What’s really important to highlight from this time is the Mies van der Rohe pavilion, which is totally ground-breaking and signals a departure from the antiquated style of the National Palace, which some consider garish.  The Mies Pavilion represents a look ahead. an architectural achievement of the first order, which, even today, is greatly valued.

CAT: L’exposició de 1929 s’ubica en Montjuïc, i te un altre caracter. Es fan grans palaus, també l’estil arquitectonic encara es molt academicista, molt del segle XIX. Però jo entenc que cumplia la seva funció a nivell d’exposició universal. El que si que es important destacar d’aquest moment es el pabelló Mies van der Rohe, que es absolutament trencador i proposa sortir d’aquest estil ja caduc del Palau Nacional, que alguns titllen de mona de pascua. El pabelló Mies representa un mirar endavant, una aportació arquitectonica de primer ordre i fins el día d’avui, que es molt valorat encara.
